Next DVD project!

This past weekend was the big Meltdown race at Nuclear RC in Parkton Maryland.
I had a great time, did a lot of walking up and down that damn hill! But I was the one who set up nearly as far away as is possible, so I have no one to blame but me.
Anyway, I got tons of footage from the race and I think a DVD is called for.
Here are the photos from the event.

APRIL 26 NUCLEAR RC

I will be starting the editing on Monday, and I am shooting for a two week turn around and have it off to be duplicated. I had quite a few people tell me they would like a copy.

As far as pricing, it is looking like it will be $15, and I will try to sell as many as I can directly. Which means I have to get my PayPal account straightened out, damn!

But, I will also have copies with me everywhere I go, and I will post my schedule here.

Sour grapes

THE FOLLOWING POST IS THE OPINION OF RAY MOORE. I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH NUCLEAR RC TRACK OR CLUB!

The lead up to race day was interesting. Weather was threatening to be an issue. Depending on which source checked had the probability of rain any where from 30 to 80%. And this would play a part in the post race discussion.

The race day was very good! There was a great turn out, including the unregistered strays who just showed up. The bad weather held off until after the racers had left. After the second round of qualifiers were finished, there was some discussion if a third qualifier should be added, and clouds rolled in. Everyone agreed the mains should start. And not long after that, the skies cleared and it was sunny again!
Today I woke up and checked on Trinity to see what people are saying about the race. And there is some controversy, imagine that! Mark Christman posted under the name Mayhem-man21

“Thats not f-ing right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i’ll never go to your track Fine if thats how you want to do.. i’ll tell everyone that your track is **** and not to ever go there… if your not giving refunds to the people that didn’t make it.. they’ll do the same… its a shame you people want to be like that….”

This was in regards to no refunds for not racing.  He continues.

“you guys are going to lose alot of racers because of this thing trust me…. For one you didn’t turn anyone away so its not like i took a spot from someone…..”

And continues

“not to be a ****, (too late) but how is it fair that you got 150 entries worth of money, prolly only 60 or so showed up and you are keeping the money. pre entry dont mean **** if the race doesnt fill so i dont see how it defeats the purpose of giving a refund. all i can say is from what ive heard from people that were there today the track was one of the worst around so i hope you use the money for something good. just an FYI i know of at least 10 people some that were there some that werent that will never be going there again.”

And then shows just how big a man he is with

“BLOW ME!!!!!!!!!”

After getting put in his place by bigDxray, Christman ends with

“you know i don’t care anymore… keep the 35 dollars….whatever
And yes they would give me a refund…. the farm did this year becasue they were calling for rain and i didn’t go (BY THE WAY 9 HOURS AWAY)….

it doesn’t brother me if 5-10 of the fastest guys in the northest don’t ever go to your track….”

This is part of the hobby I don’t like. Mark Christman, I think someone needs to sit you down and explain racing and life to you! But more important that that you need to grow up! Prepaying for a race is like buying a concert ticket, an outdoor concert. If you don’t show up because of the threat of rain, and it doesn’t rain, would you get a refund? Hell no you wouldn’t! It is not the concert promoters fault that you weren’t there! If it had rained, then it would have been postponed for another date, but if it had been cancelled, then yes you would deserve a refund. There were several other people who did not race because of the threat of weather, and Mark seems to be the only crybaby. And as for your comment “ if 5-10 of the fastest guys in the northest don’t ever go to your track….” well, it is wonderful that you have such an over inflated ego that people will boycott a track because of your childish temper tantrum! Get over yourself and grow up!

Mark, relax, you made a decision and it was wrong and now your looking to blame someone else.

YOU decided to not go to the race because of the threat of rain.

YOU know there is no refunds if the race goes on and you choose not to attend.

That can change, but it is up to the track to decide, and throwing a fit is not the best idea in that situation.

YOU made a choice and it didn’t work out, get over it!

You think it is just the racers that have a lot to do before a race! I have the canopy, table, chair, two full sized video cameras, two mini-video cameras, a digital still camera with attachments, tripod, steady-cam, photo albums……

So don’t complain to me!

The new newsletter is out! Sorry the results for the April 19 Hobbytown race are incomplete.

The poor man’s steady-cam test video.

Here is the LINK for the web page.

The noise when the camera is close to the ground is the bolt holding the camera scrapping on the sidewalk.  Not a pleasant sound!

Steady-Cam is finished

A big thanks out to Joe Eakin, the new  web master for the XRC page, for the link to how to build an inexpensive steady-cam.

I just got the last few peices today and finished assembling it.
